We have a kickstarter program for the senior classes, whereby pupils are given a variety of set books to read on a termly basis. A major section of the reference module contains a large selection of sports books which are very popular. The DK Sports is particularly useful as it explains in very clear detail all the major sports.
Well done to John Phiri (Room 11) and Lee Carpenter (Room 16) who recently won the Carlow Cup Final in soccer. Both boys play for Hanover Harps u12’s. Here is a picture of the boys with the cup.
The parents council and Mr. Farrell have organised penalty shoot outs for all senior classes last week and this week. There is a prize of a football for the winner in each class. Here ares some pictures of the classes who have enjoyed it so far.
Well done to Michael Durojaiye, Room 12 who was away in the Czech Republic last week on a training camp with the Irish Tennis Team. This is a great achievement,
We were so proud of our hurling team in the Cuman na mBunscoil Division 1 final tonight in the Carlow Centre of Excellence in Fenagh. The whole team played so well. Unfortunately the result went against us but huge progress has been made in hurling in the recent years and we hope this final will be a sign of good things to come. Well done to Ms Mullally and Mr Percy for leading the team all the way to the final. #yeboysye
Well done to Mateusz Niklewicz (room 15) and his partner from Carlow Dance Academy who won the Junior 5 Dance Ballroom All Ireland Championship this weekend in Dublin.
Wow! Our Active Schools Week was so busy this year. We had all pupils from the Active School committee helping out during the week as well as teachers on the committee. We want to say a huge thank you to all the local clubs and coaches who made this our biggest Active School Week yet. All boys received stickers and certificates to celebrate the week. Here is a photo of Junior Infants delighted with theirs. Everybody is already looking forward to next years ASW.
